Maximise printing speed and part strength with the Bambu Lab Hardened Steel Hotend 0.8mm. This large-diameter nozzle is the tool for rapid prototyping and large-scale functional parts.

The 0.8mm bore allows substantial material throughput, cutting print times while creating thick, durable walls. Combined with hardened steel construction, it handles abrasive composites like carbon fibre and glass fibre without wearing.

Features

  • Maximum Speed: The 0.8mm diameter enables high flow rates and thick layers, cutting total print time on large objects.
  • Superior Strength: Fewer perimeters and stronger layer adhesion — ideal for functional mechanical components.
  • Clog-Free Composite Printing: The extra-wide bore virtually eliminates clogging with heavy fibre-filled filaments.

Before You Buy

  • Dual-nozzle machines (H2D / H2D Pro): You must install nozzles of the same size on both sides — if you fit this 0.8mm unit, the second must also be 0.8mm.
  • H2 Changer (H2C): This hotend fits the Left (Lifting) hotend position ONLY.
  • H2D Pro owners: Your machine ships with tungsten carbide nozzles from the factory. Hardened steel fits and performs well, but it is a step down in wear resistance — a change of specification, not a like-for-like replacement.

Bambu Lab Hotend for H2 / P2S Series

Standard Flow hotend

Latches in, no tools

Hotend and nozzle in one piece. Your H2 Series, P2S or X2D keeps the heater and thermistor in its toolhead, and they latch around this unit, so you change it by hand once it has cooled.

About this product

When does it make sense to run an 0.8mm nozzle on the H2D?
For large functional prints, rapid prototyping, or any job where cutting print time matters more than fine surface detail — an 0.8mm nozzle extrudes far more plastic per pass than stock, trading resolution for speed and strength.
Does this fit the P2S and X2D too?
Yes, it fits H2S, H2D, H2D Pro, P2S, and X2D. On the H2 Changer (H2C) it only fits the Left (Lifting) hotend position, and if you're on a dual-nozzle H2D/H2D Pro, both installed hotends must be the same size. It's a different hardware family from P1/X1 and A-series hotends, so it won't fit those.
What's the price difference telling me versus the High Flow 0.6mm option?
This Standard Flow 0.8mm hotend costs less than the High Flow hotends because it doesn't have the optimized melt zone for extreme volumetric speed — it still moves substantially more plastic than stock via sheer nozzle size, just without the High Flow engineering on top.
What slicer and temperature changes does an 0.8mm nozzle need?
Set nozzle diameter to 0.8mm, raise layer height to roughly 0.4–0.6mm, increase flow/volumetric speed limits, and expect to run 5–10°C hotter than your normal profile since the melt zone needs more heat soak to keep up with the higher flow rate.
Why hardened steel rather than stainless for this size?
Large-nozzle, high-throughput printing is commonly paired with abrasive CF/GF filaments, and hardened steel resists that wear far better than stainless. On plain PLA/PETG there's no quality difference, so hardened is the safer default at 0.8mm. One caveat: H2D Pro ships with tungsten carbide nozzles from the factory, which resist abrasion even better — this hardened steel unit fits and performs well, but it's a step down in wear resistance from that factory spec.
How should I maintain a nozzle this size to prevent buildup?
The cold pull method still applies — heat, cool slightly, pull the filament straight out. Because the bore is large, full clogs are rarer than on fine nozzles, but periodic pulls with PLA or PETG help clear buildup before it starts affecting flow consistency.
