Choosing a CNC router

TTC450 Pro or TTC6050: which one should I get?

Both are 3-axis GRBL routers. The TTC450 Pro is the compact, upgradeable one: a 460 × 460 × 80 mm work area, a 775 spindle (8,000–30,000 RPM) and an offline touchscreen, with laser, rotary and 500W spindle upgrades available later. The TTC6050 is the larger, stiffer machine: a 600 × 500 × 100 mm work area, a 500W spindle, ball screws with linear rails, and an infrared intrusion sensor and emergency stop. Choose the TTC450 Pro for a first CNC or a small shop, and the TTC6050 when you need a bigger bed or more rigidity.

What can a desktop CNC router cut?

Wood, plywood, MDF, acrylic and carbon fiber are the comfortable materials. The manufacturer lists 0.1–20 mm per pass in non-metals. Aluminum, copper and stainless steel are possible only in very light passes (0.1–0.2 mm per pass, manufacturer figures), so they take patience and the right tooling. If most of your work is metal, a desktop router is not the right tool.

Which accessory fits which router?

The 4th axis rotary kit fits the TTC450, TTC450 Pro and TTC6050. The TC20 20W laser module fits the TTC450 and TTC450 Pro. The air-cooling kit lists the TTC6050. The 500W spindle is an upgrade for TTC-series routers; the TTC450 Pro supports it as an upgrade. Each accessory page shows exactly what it fits, so check it before you order.

What software and computer do I need?

Both routers run on GRBL and read standard G-code files (.nc). They work with VCarve, Fusion 360, Easel and Carveco Maker on Windows, macOS or Linux, and they connect by USB or run offline from the built-in touchscreen controller, so the computer does not need to stay attached during a job.

How much space do I need, and what about dust and noise?

The TTC450 Pro machine is about 742 × 689 × 413 mm and 15.5 kg. The TTC6050 is about 811 × 769 × 530 mm without its control box and 35.9 kg, so it needs a sturdy bench. Routing makes chips, dust and noise: plan for a shop vacuum, wear eye and hearing protection, and run it somewhere you can ventilate.

Is shipping free, and how long does it take?

Shipping is free on every CNC router and accessory, and most items ship within 48 hours of your order. Returns and exchanges are covered in our return policy.
