Bambu Lab Series Compatibility Guide: What Fits A1, A2L, P1, X1, P2S and H2

Bambu Lab parts are matched to models, and models inside a series are not always interchangeable. As a rule: hotends are shared inside a family, build plates are shared by size, AMS units depend on the printer, and electrical and assembly parts are model-specific. This guide shows what is shared, using the compatibility listed on our product pages and Bambu's own spare-part list, and then the exceptions that catch people out.

In this guide

Series and models

  • A Series: A1 Mini, A1, A2L. Open-frame bed-slingers. The A2L is the large-format one.
  • P Series: P1P (open), P1S (enclosed), P2S (enclosed).
  • X Series: X1C, X1E, X2D. The X1C and X1E share many parts with the P1S, but not all.
  • H2 Series: H2D, H2D Pro, H2S, H2C. Large-format, enclosed.

Which part fits which model

A check means the part is listed as compatible on its MakerParts 3D product page. A dash means it is not listed, so do not assume it fits. Always confirm the badge and the variant on the product page before ordering.

The table is a snapshot of our listings, not a statement about every part Bambu makes. Where a model is missing, the safe reading is "not confirmed".

Hotends

There are three hotend families, and none crosses over: P1/X1 (P1P, P1S, X1C), A Series (A1 Mini, A1, A2L) and H2 / P2S / X2D. The X1 complete hotend units are listed for the X1C and the P1 complete hotend units for the P1P and P1S.

The A Series splits the nozzle from the heating assembly. That means you can replace the nozzle alone. The A1 heating assembly is listed for the A1 Mini and A1 only; Bambu states the A2L's heating assembly is a different part. Bambu's own High Flow hotend exists for the H2 / P2S / X2D family. For P1 and X1 the high-flow route is the E3D High Flow ObXidian, developed with Bambu, plus third-party options. Sizes and materials are in the nozzle guide, and flow in High Flow vs. Standard Flow.

X1E: what it shares with the X1C

The X1E is the model most often mis-bought as an X1C. Using Bambu's spare-part list as the reference:

  • Shared with the X1C and P1 printers: filament cutter and lever, nozzle wiper, hotend silicone sock, 4-in-1 PTFE adapter, PTFE tube connectors, bus cable, AMS electronics, extruder motor and the heatbed sensor parts.
  • Not shared: the hotend. Bambu lists dedicated X1E complete hotend assemblies (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm), and the P1/X1 hotends above are not listed for the X1E. The X1E also has its own extruder unit, hardened steel extruder gear is not listed for it, and its heatbed and chamber heater are separate parts.

If you own an X1E, match the part number against Bambu's list before ordering a hotend or extruder part.

Build plates

Plates are grouped by size, not by name. These are Bambu's plate sizes:

  • 256 × 256 mm: X1C, P1P, P1S, A1, P2S, X2D
  • 180 × 180 mm: A1 Mini
  • 330 × 320 mm: H2C and A2L (Bambu states they use the same plates)
  • 350 × 320 mm: H2D, H2D Pro, H2S

Size is necessary, not sufficient. Surface types are limited per model, and a plate listed for one size does not fit another. The A2L supports Textured PEI, Engineering Plate and Cool Plate SuperTack Pro, but only in the 330 × 320 mm size, so an H2D or H2S plate of the same type will not fit it. Always buy the plate listed for your model.

AMS and filament feeding

  • AMS Lite is for the A1 Mini, A1 and A2L.
  • AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT are listed for every model in the table. Features differ by model: drying while printing needs recent firmware and is currently limited to the H2D, H2S, P2S, X2D and A2L, and the AMS 2 Pro needs its own power adapter on X1, P1, A1 and A2L printers. Details are in the drying section of the filament guide.
  • 4-in-1 PTFE adapter: listed for the A2L, P1, X1, P2S, X2D and most H2 models. On the A2L, Bambu says multiple AMS units need the first-generation adapter; the second generation is not supported there.

A2L: what it shares with the A1

The A2L is the model most often mis-bought in the A Series. From Bambu's A2L FAQ:

  • Shared with the A1: hotend, external spool holder, screen, heatbed nozzle wiper and toolhead cutter.
  • Not shared: the 256 × 256 plates (it takes 330 × 320 plates), the extruder (the A2L uses a different closed-loop servo extruder), the belts, the hotend heating assembly and the AMS Lite filament hub (the A2L has its own).
  • Materials: the A2L is open-frame and rated for low-temperature materials: PLA, PETG, TPU and PLA/PETG supports, with the heatbed capped at 80 °C. After switching to a hardened steel nozzle it can also print PLA-CF and PETG-CF.
  • AMS: supports AMS Lite plus up to four AMS units in series, up to 19 colors.

If you own more than one printer

  • P1S + X1C: the easiest pair. Shared hotends, extruder gear, nozzle wiper and filament cutter. The X1C keeps its own LiDAR and sensors.
  • A1 + A1 Mini: shared A Series hotend and AMS Lite. Plates differ (256 vs. 180 mm).
  • A1 + A2L: shared hotend, spool holder, screen, wiper and cutter. Plates, extruder and heating assembly differ.
  • P1S + A1: almost nothing in common apart from the filament cutter, the AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT and, by size, 256 × 256 mm plates.
  • P1S + H2S: the filament cutter and AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT. Hotends and plates differ.

FAQ

Can I use a P1S hotend on an X1C?

Yes. The P1/X1 hotends are listed for the P1P, P1S and X1C. They are not listed for the X1E, which has its own hotend assemblies.

Does the A2L use the same hotend as the A1?

Yes. Bambu says the A2L uses the same hotend as the A1 series. The heating assembly inside it is a different part.

Is there a High Flow hotend for the P1S or X1C?

Not Bambu's H2-family one. For the X1C and P1 series the high-flow option is the E3D High Flow ObXidian, developed with Bambu, and third-party hotends such as the Mako and Panda Revo are also available.

Can I put a standard AMS on an A1?

The A1 is designed around AMS Lite. Our AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT pages list the A1 and A1 Mini, but some functions are limited by model and firmware, so check the product page notes before buying.

Do P1S build plates fit the X1C?

Yes. Both use 256 × 256 mm plates. Confirm the surface type and that the listing names your model.

Which parts can I share between a P1S and an A1?

The filament cutter, AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT and, by size, 256 × 256 mm plates. Hotends, wipers and extruder gears are model-specific.
